I recently finished a wedding video that was jam packed with so many of my favorite things - Sixth & I, Elegance & Simplicity, Tom Van Veen, of Documentary Associates, and the Decatur House. You can see from this short recap some of the highlights of the ketubah signing, the ceremony, and the reception.

The ketubah signing, bedeken and ceremony were at historic Sixth & I. It’s such a great place to have a ceremony and the chuppah was gorgeous. The flowers, provided by Elegance & Simplicity, were, if course, beautiful. Elegance & Simplicity also did the wedding planning, so everything ran on track.

Fall Wedding at the Omni Shoreham

I sent the bride and groom their Blu-Ray discs over two weeks ago. Now, it isn’t always the case that I hear back right away. Sometimes I never hear back. Different people respond differently. But I was so excited when I finished this wedding. It was beautiful in so many ways, and I was very sad to not hear anything.

And then my phone rang. It was the bride. She had been out of town and had only just watched the video the night before. After watching it “My husband told me to call Jessica right away and tell her how much we love the video. We do, Jessica. It’s perfect. We love it!”

I love hearing that. It’s why I do weddings.

A Diamond Events Wedding in Occoquan, VA

I just finished editing an HD wedding video of a beautiful wedding in Occoquan, VA.

Here is a glimpse of all the best moments of the wedding day recapped in one song.

The bride and groom were lovely, and I had a great time working with them.  Michael Alvarez was my second camera person for the ceremony and we captured a lot of great details in our high definition footage.

But what made this wedding special was the planning and the design by Stephanie Hughes, of Diamond Events. The following video is of the photo session/cocktail hour.  You can see a lot of touches of design put into the flowers and decor at the reception at the Harbor View, in Occoquan, VA.

Stephanie and her crew were great to work with.  As expected, the day ran like clockwork and everyone was where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there.  More importantly, Stephanie is just a pleasure to be around, always with a smile on her face.  And no wonder - she threw such a beautiful and fun wedding event, she had every right to be smiling!

Bristow Manor Ceremony

Jessica Pi Productions recently worked with the wonderful event planner, Myrna Grossman, of For All Occasions.  Myrna planned a beautiful wedding at the Bristow Manor Golf Club.

Michael Alvarez, an associate videographer, captured the ceremony and reception.  Here is a short clip from the wedding video.

The Honor Roll

I made the 2009 Elegant Event Planning & Design Honor Roll!

Lisa Nelson, owner of Elegant Event Planning, recently posted her list of the Best Wedding Vendors of 2009, and I was excited to be chosen as the best videographer.  You can see a complete list of all of the Honor Roll Vendors here, or click the following to read what Lisa had to say about my work and why she chose me as the Best Videographer!

This is much better than all those times I was on the honor roll in High School!  First of all, I really like all the other kids who made the list, and secondly,  I like the selection process better.  I never was very good with averages, so I prefer being hand chosen for doing something I love to do.

The Green Chica

I am happy to once again be working with Katie Martin, of Elegance & Simplicity, on this year’s Earth Day Wedding.  This will be the third wedding video I have donated for a good cause, championed by Katie, and the second in the name of green wedding practices.

Katie is a very busy woman.  Not only is she a fabulous wedding planner and an amazing florist under Elegance & Simplicity, she recently published a new online magazine - Eco Beautiful Weddings, is working on getting her third book completed and published, and runs the DC Green Wedding Consortium, of which I am proud to be a member.

A Meeting with Diamond Events

I recently met with Stephanie Hughes, Founder and President of Diamond Events.  Stephanie has terrific energy and a great bubbly personality that would make her a joy to work with, especially at an event like a wedding.

I have already met with one of Stephanie’s 2010 couples and could tell that they are really enjoying working with her on the wedding planning process.

Stephanie has been in business for herself for a little over a year now and has been learning about all of the different venues and vendors in this area since she moved to Northern Virginia from Blacksburg last year.  Stephanie is extremely detailed oriented and able to take care of all of your wedding and event planning needs.
